Green Wing Macaw

The Green Wing Macaw is a marvelous creature. We call them the gentle giants of the birds. It has a deeper shade of red than the scarlet macaw and dark green instead of yellow in the wings. The bare cheeks of the scarlet are replaced by tiny deep red feathers lining the face of the green Wing,. Flight feathers are blue and tail feathers are a blue tipped deep red. The beak is light on the upper mandible and black on the lower. The green wing is not as available as many other macaws now command one of the higher price ranges. With the size being somewhat overwhelming to most people, they are non the less very sweet and gentle companions. Many Green Wings get very attached to their family of humans. When considering this large bird one must think about the cage requirements, these birds must have large roomy and very strong cages. This requirement can be quite expensive most cages meeting the requirements can price any where from $500 and more, but the stronger and larger the better.
